Initially, I wasn't very excited about the Super Mario movie announcement. I felt that video game adaptations were still a risky venture and that the Mario franchise lacked a compelling narrative. Despite Anya Taylor-Joy's inclusion in the cast, I remained uninterested.

However, as more footage has been released, my opinion has changed. I defend Chris Pratt's accent, and while the humor may be childish at times, the film appears to have captured the warmth of Mario while maintaining the simple charm of the original games, which were character-rich and narratively light. 

As a result, I am now invested in the movie and have set myself up for potential disappointment. This was especially apparent when the latest trailer revealed the Sand Kingdom, crushing my previously held hopes.

I completely understand your love for Princess Daisy as your favorite Mario character. It is unfortunate that this opinion is not only in the minority but also subject to mockery. Daisy has always been a character with a lot of personality, which brings a unique charm to the games. It is disappointing that she appears to have been excluded entirely from the Super Mario Bros. Movie, especially when we see celebrity casting for Toad and the presence of less prominent characters like Kamek.

However, I do understand why you might have thought that yesterday's trailer hinted at Daisy's inclusion. It is unfortunate that this turned out not to be the case. Regardless, I hope that the movie will still be enjoyable for you and that it will do justice to the beloved Mario franchise.

It's understandable to feel disappointed when a favorite character is left out of a movie, especially when they bring a unique personality to the story. Princess Daisy may not have made an appearance in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, but there's still hope that she'll be included in a future installment. 

Perhaps her absence was intentional, and her surprise reveal in a sequel would make for a memorable moment. If the studio wants to go all out, casting someone like Florence Pugh would certainly add to the excitement. Regardless, it's clear that Daisy is an important part of the Mario universe, and fans would love to see more of her in future adaptations.
